Professor Yuan Liu

Prof. Liu received his B.S. in Physics from Tsinghua University in Beijing. He also holds a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering and a Ph.D. in Chemical Physics from Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island. Prior to joining NC State faculty, he was a postdoctoral researcher in the Research Laboratory of Electronics and Department of Physics at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Boston. Dr. Joel Bierman
Postdoctoral Scholar at NC State
Joel received his B.S. in physics and mathematics with a minor in chemistry from Indiana University Bloomington in 2019. He received his Ph.D. in physics from Duke University where he worked on developing quantum algorithms for solving the electronic structure problem in quantum chemistry. His research interests include quantum information processing and quantum computational chemistry. Email
